Gender-Related Contributions, Multifactorial Forces on Nausea, Vomiting and Lifestyle Interventions

Dil Prasad Subba

Abstract

The manifestations of nausea and vomiting have multiple etiologist and are complex presentations in the context of numerous medical, psychological, and physiological situations. Symptoms can arise from gastrointestinal disturbances such as gastroparesis and intestinal pseudo-obstruction or from pregnancy or factors related to sports. Understanding the tricky interplay between various causes is fundamental to their management-whether physiological, psychological, or situational. The article attempts to analyse the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of nausea and vomiting in gastrointestinal motility disorders, neural pathways, and hormonal influences, particularly in pregnancy. This is also compared to gender differences in incidence and response to treatment, thus stressing the importance of the personalized approach to clinical management. Furthermore, it discusses lifestyle changes, including non-pharmacological strategies, as adjuvant means for improving patient outcome along with pharmacological treatment.
