A Comparative Analysis of Ride-Hailing Apps and Traditional Public Transport in Nigeria Utilizing Transport Operations Management Software (TOMS).

Aworemi, J. R, Abir O.N

Abstract

This article presents a comparative analysis of ride-hailing apps and traditional public transport in Nigeria. The study aims to examine their efficiency, sustainability, and overall performance using Transport Operations Management Software (TOMS). The literature review discusses relevant studies on ride-hailing services, transportation preferences, and the impact of TOMS. The methodology involves surveys to gather data on transportation preferences, which will be analyzed using statistical techniques. The findings will provide insights for policymakers and urban planners to improve transportation systems. The correlation matrix derived from TOMS analysis reveals significant relationships between convenience, cost-effectiveness, value for money, and transportation preferences. The results highlight the impact of ride-hailing apps on traditional public transport and the need for improvements in efficiency.
