EARLY DETECTION OF FLOOD MONITORING SYSTEM USING WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS

Abstract


Flooding has become well-known worldwide as a natural calamity that receives extensive media coverage due to the destruction it causes. Floods will still happen, but they might have a far smaller impact on society. This study investigates the use of wireless sensor networks (WSN) for early warning in areas that are susceptible to flooding. The technology depends on placing sensor nodes in high-risk locations to detect and track floods in real time. Real-time monitoring of flood events, such as flash flooding and run-off water or overflow, provides people with ample time to prepare for the expected occurrence of floods and shields them from the aftermath of flood disasters. Through the use of numerous flood scenarios, the technology's efficacy and accuracy were confirmed.
