Water monitoring system for smart fish farming that is based on IoT

Abstract


The topic of Internet of Things, or IoT, is expanding rapidly and is currently influencing every aspect of modern life. Innovation in farming and aquaculture is reaching a new height because to advancements in computers like Arduino and Raspberry Pi. We have described and implemented the use of Raspberry Pi, Arduino, several sensors, smartphone cameras, and Android applications for the purpose of monitoring the water quality in aquaculture in this work. Temperature, pH, Electrical Conductivity, and Colour are the water quality metrics that are used in this investigation. Arduino is utilised for sensor acquisition, and Raspberry Pi is used for data processing and server functions. In order to determine the colour of the water, the Raspberry Pi also takes pictures using the camera on a smartphone. The terminal device in this case is an Android phone. Using an Android app, a user may keep an eye on the water quality both locally through Wi-Fi and globally via the Internet. To ascertain the overall approximate condition of the water and the necessary action, some analysis is conducted using the values of the four parameters. This checking device's features are all easily and legitimately operable.
