Simulation and Study of Utility Grid Connected PV Array and Fuel Cell

Abstract


Primary objective of this paper is to recommend an electricity generation system centered on renewable energy sources to fulfill the electrical demand of remote areas of an emerging country like India. The suggested system is composed of photovoltaic array and fuel cell stack. The system is known as Solar PV-Fuel cell system connected to grid. As this system is connected to grid it can take power from the grid and can give additional power to the grid in case of access electric power. The optimization and the simulation of the proposed system were performed with MATLAB/SIMULINK software. In order to determine the optimal combination of the system, different combinations of PV array and FUEL cell and GRID were selected on the basis of the Net Present Cost (NPC).
