Enhancing Project Management with Earned Value Analysis in MS Project

Purna Vachhani, Jayeshkumar Ramchandrabhai Pitroda, Prof. (Dr.) Indrajit N. Patel, Dr. Reshma L. Patel

Abstract

Earned Value Analysis (EVA) integrated into Microsoft Project (MS Project) is a pivotal project management tool that empowers project managers to comprehensively assess project performance, anticipate issues, and make informed decisions. This paper explores the seamless fusion of EVA within the MS Project, providing a deep understanding of its utilization and effectiveness. EVA combines project scope, cost, and schedule to offer a holistic view of project health, and when integrated into MS Project, it streamlines project management processes. The paper highlights the benefits, including enhanced project visibility and early issue identification, and discusses potential limitations such as complexity and data accuracy dependencies. Practical applications across diverse industries, real-world case studies, and future trends in EVA are discussed, showcasing its versatility and adaptability. EVA in MS Project is positioned to play a pivotal role in the evolving project management landscape, further driving better project outcomes and enhancing the capabilities of project managers.
