ANALYSIS OF MULTISTOREY BUILDING BY USING SOFTWARE

Abstract


In today’s fast-paced construction industry, efficiency in analysis and design has become essential for structural engineers. To improve both accuracy and time management, modern software tools such as STAAD-Pro and ETABS are widely used for the analysis of multi-storey buildings. The structural analysis of such buildings requires careful consideration of various loads, including dead load, live load, and other possible external forces, to ensure safety under different conditions. Traditional analysis techniques like the moment distribution method, cantilever method, and portal method provide fundamental understanding, while the matrix method forms the basis of most software-based analysis. This project aims to study the behaviour of a multi-storey building by performing analysis through both manual calculations and software tools, allowing a comparison between conventional and modern approaches. The dead load &live loads are applied and the analysis for beams, columns. STAAD Pro, and ETABS. We conclude that software is a very powerful tools which can save much time and is very accurate in analysis. Thus, it is concluded that software is more suitable for the analysis of a multistoried building.
