Case Studies on effect of Natural Disaster such as Lightning due to Global Climate Change and the impact on the Local Environment and Livelihoods of Bangladesh

Abstract

The economic revolution of Mankind has taken place all over the world at the price of severely ruining the balance of world’s environs and turning the once wonderful planet to a polluted and uninhabitable for all living beings as well. The global environment is deteriorating rapidly, and has waned even more briskly in Bangladesh over the past few decades. Several Disorders and Diseases due to environmental imbalance and pollution are on the rise worldwide and at the same time the death rate is increasing and a statistic shows that the death rate due to environs pollution in the world is 16%. According to a World Bank report, Bangladesh has the highest death toll from Environmental Disorders and pollution in Asia, with 28% of deaths each year in Bangladesh due to environmental imbalance. Lightning has recently become one of the prominent causes of weather-related death toll along with numbers of sufferings and casualties across many parts of the globe. And averagely, every year more than 250 people expire in Bangladesh due to Lightning phenomena. Previously, in Bangladesh, Strike from thunder and Lightning was not recognized to be a natural disaster. However considering the enormous death toll recent years, the Government has recently declared it as a Natural Disaster [1] so that if anyone dies from a lightning strike, his/her family will be given certain financial aid thousand takas from the Government. Academics and Experts of many Disaster Management and Climate Change forum and Professionals from Mass Communicative Media and related authentic Sources reported that the fatal lightning strikes [2] took lives of roughly 2000 people during 2010 to 2019 while the actual data finally stay to increase by time.
