Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine the changes in land use patterns in India from 1950-1951 to 2020-21. The research relies on secondary data. India's total land area is 3287263 square kilometers, of which 92.9% is under cultivation. 46.04% of this land is dedicated to agricultural activities. According to the findings, minor changes have occurred in all land use categories. During the aforementioned time period, the forest area increased from 14.2% to 24.62%. In addition, the net sown area has been increased from 37.00% to 42.40%.
