Air Pollutants and Its Adverse Effect Using AQI

Sonika Sharma

Abstract

Environmental pollution and human efforts for the betterment of living standards are the two sides of coin. Air pollution is of public health concern on several scales: micro, meso and macro. Meso–scale air pollution effects include industrial and mobile sources that contaminate the ambient air that surrounds us out doors. Transport of ambient air pollutants over large distances and global impact contribute to macro-scale impacts. Global impacts of air pollution may potentially change the upper atmosphere. Global warming, ozone depletion and acid rain are the example of macro- scale impacts. Air pollutants show maximum concentration in urban areas so that urban population is exposed to air pollutants gases indoors where they spend most of their time. Some 3 million deaths a year are linked to exposure to air pollution. Outdoor and indoor air pollution has created great havoc. It has been observed that this has resulted in death of 6.5 million human being. So it is necessary that every person should work together to find the methods to decrease the amount of pollution
