Abstract

The consumption of large volume of water and the generation of organic compounds as liquid effluents are major environmental problems in sugar cane processing industry. For high strength organic effluent treatment anaerobic digestion is more suitable method. The fusion of biodegradable components with merits of anaerobic process over other treatment method makes it a comfortable option. The aim of the treatment is to study the treatment of sugar industry waste water by down flow stationary fixed film (dsff) Reactor. Thus for production of biogas dsff reactor can be used to treat the sugar waste water.
