Smart Irrigation System for Farmers

Abstract


This research is used to build an automatic pumping mechanism of motor which Turns ON and OFF Irrigation motor of Farm by sensing and detecting the moisture level of land surface using soil moisture sensor without the intervention of human. The benefit of employing these techniques is to decrease human interference and it is quite feasible and affordable. This Smart irrigation system (SIG) project is using an Arduino micro-controller, that is programmed to collect the input signal according to moisture content of the soil and it is given to the operational amplifier which command to operate the irrigation motor pump, an automatic irrigation pumping mechanism for successive water management and soil condition analyzing system has been proposed in this research. Soil Parameters like soil moisture, water level indictor. The GSM(Global system for mobile communication) technology is used as a communication medium between farmer and the farming land, the moisture content of farming soil will be displayed on the mobile screen of farmer through SMS and also keep the recorded in webpage. The farmer can access the web server about the farm soil condition at any instant, at anywhere. This method reduces the tedious human effort and time.
