Difficulties with Digitalization Integration in Fit-Out Projects

Abstract

Through the use of information technology, the design and construction industry is currently moving away from a traditional manner and toward a more dependable and efficient one. It has not yet attained its full potential, though, and is still in its infancy in developing countries like India. This paper aims to identify the various challenges associated with Office Fit-Out Construction, a type of Fast track construction approach, and then connect it with various digital technologies that could be used to mitigate these challenges. The ultimate goal is to improve smooth management for both the client and the executing firm. Based on the literature review and expert interviews, a number of challenges have been identified; a range of case studies validate the validity and regularity of these challenges. Numerous causes of these issues have been identified and summarized using fishbone diagrams. They looked at further ways that technology and different digital products that are on the market could help to lessen these reasons. The results were then scrutinized to ascertain their consequences for the construction site and to suggest appropriate measures for enhancing the administration of office fit-out projects via digitization.
