A Study to Assess the Effectiveness of Sim Regarding Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder among Primary School Teachers of Selected Primary Schools

Abstract


Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder was first described by Dr. Hoffman in 1845. The teacher must maintain firm control of the classroom while also being sympathetic and warm. ADD / ADHD children generally are very emotional and loving. They respond well to praise and individual attention. Small class size is beneficial for these children as they offer less distraction, allowing them a better opportunity to build relationship with their peers and the teacher.5 The present study was done for 50 primary school teachers. The primary school teachers were taken by convenient sampling technique. Before and after the self-instructional module, the degree of knowledge regarding attention deficit hyperactivity disorder among primary school teachers was measured using a standardized questionnaire. Using a standardized questionnaire, the pre- and post-tests were administered. Research in two groups revealed that the self-instructional module for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) was successful in raising the knowledge score. The investigator performed two sessions for each group to conduct a self- didactic module on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The post-test was administered using the identical pre-test questionnaire following a seven-day self-instruction module.
