IoT-Based Advanced Smart Home Surveillance and Automation System

Abstract


Recently, the Internet of Things (IoT) has transformed automation technology by integrating multi-sensor data fusion and actuation through Wi-Fi connectivity. With the advent of Industry 4.0, automation has become crucial in achieving precision and accuracy across various domains. In the field of automation, domestic security has gained significant importance due to rapid urbanization and increasing crime rates. IoT-based home security systems enable efficient multi-sensor data fusion, ensuring minimal noise and enabling rapid, accurate feature collection and real-time execution. This paper proposes an energy-efficient biometric-enabled automated door locking system, which enhances home security. Additionally, the system incorporates imaging capabilities to differentiate between intruders and residents. Upon detecting unauthorized access, an automated SMS alert feature is triggered, further strengthening the security system's reliability and responsiveness.
