Reactive Power Management in Microgrid Using Droop Control

Abstract


The usage of electrical energy demand is increasing day by day, there by driving the modern power systems to towards clean and renewable power. Microgrid is going to take help of small distributed generation units on electrical power system. The overall load demand sharing by distributed generation units will be sharing same amount of load for maintaining the power stability. The power electronic converters have to be used to correct energy conversion. Droop Control system is implemented in microgrid.It allows correct operation of parallel voltage source inverters in grid connection as well as islanded mode of operation. In the present work, Droop Control technique is implemented in micro grid using Simulink / Matlab software.
