Arun Kumar Maurya, Anil Kumar Rai, Hemant Ahuja

Abstract

Grid connected Solar PV systems are being increasingly used to minimize the mismatch between the demand and supply around the world. In this paper, the performance analysis of a 40kWp grid connected solar PV system has been carried out. The PV system is installed at Ghaziabad (latitude and longitude of this location are 28.66° N & 77.44° E respectively) in northern region of India. To receive maximum incident solar radiation year round cycle, the PV modules are tilted at an angle of 30° on the top floor of the building. The total yield generated by the system is fed into the grid. The various parameters of the system evaluated include PV Module Performance parameter, System efficiency, Array output, Final output and Performance Ratio of the system. The total energy generated during this period from March - 2017 to April - 2018 is found to be 4.15 MWh and the PV module performance parameter, converter efficiency and performance ratio are found to be 13.48 %, 92.99 % and 0.79 respectively.
