Sensors operated modern railway platform

Abstract

For railroads, the safety of their passengers comes first. This project aims to replace level crossing manual gate control with automated gate operation that reacts to train arrivals and departures. The gate automatically closes in response to a train approaching the crossing. When a train approaches or leaves the tracks, two infrared sensors track it and notify the operator. The Arduino Uno will be used to drive servo motors that will open and close the gate. Furthermore, in order to prevent any potential mishaps, the motorman will be notified of the gate's current condition well in advance. Buzzers are used to alert persons who are waiting to pass when the gate closes. By employing this technique, the increasing number of level crossing accidents in India could potentially be reduced. Hardware support is provided by Arduino C code. The recommended method has higher safety and reduced waste.
