IOT Based Distribution Transformer Monitoring and Controlling System

Abstract


Transformer is the one of most important part of power system. Large amount of transformers are used in the power system for distribution as well se transmission. Thus protection of transformer is main issue. The main aim of this system is distribution transformer monitoring and controlling through IOT. Also, it sends SMS with the help of GSM. The idea of on-line monitoring system mixes a global service mobile (GSM) Modem, with chip micro controller and different sensors. Transformer is subjected to fault due to various issues like over voltage, under voltage, over current, reduction in oil level and increase in temperature. So in this system various sensors are established at the transformer site to sense the fault and perform the operation.  Here controller is continuously reading the temperature, voltage and current and display on the LCD.
