

HIGHER EDUCATION AND SUSTAINABLE DECISION MAKING: THE ROLE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Abstract
Purpose: Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an essential aspect of technology development in today's world. It has a significant impact on every industry for sustainable decision making, including healthcare and education. In this chapter, valuable insights can be gained into how Artificial Intelligence is currently being used in higher education, and how it's shaping the future of the industry. It highlights the significance of AI, its drawbacks, commonly used tools, and the policies implemented by various countries while discussing the current state of AI in higher education in India.
Research methodology/approach: The researchers employ a constructive approach to writing the book chapter by thoroughly reviewing existing research on the emerging concept of artificial intelligence, its significant impact on the current higher education system and its role in sustainable decision making in future in the higher education sector.
Findings: The finding of the study demonstrations the significant role artificial intelligence plays toward higher education. The study displays the use of various Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools that are used in teaching-learning process in higher education. It also discusses some of the challenges that is faced by higher education while implementing AI in higher education such as plagiarism and students critical thinking abilities. Lastly it discusses the various policies that was implemented to introduce AI in higher education and also the role of AI in a sustainable higher education.
Originality: As of yet no such book chapter have been published on AI and its influences on higher education. The study gives a clear understanding to the readers regarding various aspect of AI such as its utility, disadvantage, government policies and current scenario.References
