Architecture of the Landform – Landscape Architecture

Abstract


Landscape architecture is the design of landform to suit a certain function and aesthetics as per the requirement. As wide as the scope of landform is in the world, subsequently the horizon of landscape architecture is also vast and unique. Landscape design involves design of open spaces, outdoor areas, parks, and water-body fronts, elements to achieve aesthetic, environment and social responses. Landscape design is derivative of the soil and water conditions available since both fertile soil and water for maintenance in mandatory for a thriving landscape design. A landscape architect who is a professional of landscape architecture studies and deals with the on-site natural conditions prevalent and accordingly merges nature with the function to yield designs and landscape architecture that not only is utilitarian but also aesthetic and lasts forever. Landscape architecture can spread acrossindoor and outdoor spaces of mini residential garden/balcony greenery to hospitability green spaces to massive urban level Park and recreation areas, public squares and even sea-front/beach-front developments. Landscape architecture collaborate horticulture, soil sciences, geography, ecology, environmental sciences, architecture and fine arts. A thorough understanding of the above subjects involving soil study, geographical conditions in both opportunities and limitations, surrounding architecture, nuances of execution and the aesthetic sense will only yield perfect landscaped spaces.
