Jit Kumar Gupta

Abstract

India's rapid urbanization presents critical challenges including uncontrolled migration, inadequate infrastructure, and environmental degradation. Cities face operational inefficiency, poor governance, housing shortages, and social inequity. This study examines emerging urban planning issues and proposes sustainable solutions through community engagement, technological integration, and policy reforms. The research emphasizes the need for comprehensive planning frameworks that balance economic growth with environmental sustainability and social inclusion to create liveable urban spaces for India's growing urban population.
