

THE APPLICATION OF E-GOVERNMENT SERVICES IN NIGERIA: CONSTRAINTS AND SOLUTIONS
Abstract
Application of E-government services means the use of technology to deliver public services to citizens mostly in Nigeria. The government departments use ICT to innovate processes, make quality services, quality system and information quality. The E-government services ensure personal information and security, the perception of ease of use and reliability. When the government is serious with this system of E-government services, it accrued the following benefits: improved efficiency, improved transparency and creating citizen trust. It makes government services more accessible to citizens, it affords improved democratic participation. The aim and objectives of this study is to assess the current state of E-government services in Nigeria. Identify the primary constraints affecting the implementation of E-government initiatives, propose solutions to overcome the challenges and enhance the effectiveness of E-government services. To recommend policy measures that can facilitate ICT integration in public administration. The methodology in this article employs a qualitative approach, which utilizes secondary data from academic journals, government reports, and credible online sources.
