AI-POWERED FARMER QUERY AND SUPPORT SYSTEM

Abstract


Farmers frequently face challenges in obtaining timely and reliable agricultural guidance on weather, pest management, market prices, and crop health. The Farmer Advisor system is designed to overcome this gap by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) for multilingual, multimodal agricultural assistance. The system accepts text, voice, and image-based queries, processes them through a FastAPI and Streamlit-powered framework, and delivers responses in both English and Tamil, along with audio output. Using OpenAI’s GPT model and Google’s Speech Recognition and Translation APIs, the system provides personalized insights on weather conditions, crop disease identification, and real-time market trends. The AI assistant enhances accessibility and inclusivity for rural farmers, ensuring quick, reliable, and language-friendly support. This research demonstrates how conversational AI can revolutionize agricultural extension by providing intelligent, multilingual, and multimodal advisory services..
