Advanced Alloys for Marine Applications

A. Awasare

Abstract

Marine environments present unique challenges for materials due to the aggressive conditions of saltwater, humidity, and varying temperatures. This research focuses on alloys used in marine applications, analyzing their mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and durability. Key alloys such as aluminum-based, copper-based, and titanium-based materials are evaluated for their suitability in shipbuilding, offshore structures, and underwater equipment. Advanced surface treatments, coatings, and alloying techniques that enhance performance are also discussed. The study aims to provide insights into the current advancements and future trends in marine alloy development to ensure sustainability, reliability, and cost-efficiency in marine engineering applications.
