Talent Acquisition Effectiveness in the Gig Economy and Remote Work Era: An Empirical Study
Abstract
The active development of the gig economy and the introduction of remote working has changed the standard approaches to talent acquisition such recently. Flexibility and technology-based models of recruitment are becoming indispensable to the organizations seeking access to global talent base, cut down on operational expenses and enhance the efficiency of their recruitments. Although there has been a lot of conceptual deliberation, scarce empirical studies have been done on the determinants of talent acquisition efficacy in gig and remote work settings. In this research, this gap is solved by investigating the impact of workforce flexibility, access to global talents, and cost-saving, speed in recruiting, and use of HR technology in effectiveness in talent acquisition.
The quantitative research design was selected and the primary data was gathered in the form of a structured questionnaire that was distributed to HR professionals and talent acquisition practitioners. One hundred and fifty-four valid responses were put under multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that there is a statistically significant model explaining 91.8 percent of the variance in the effectiveness of talent acquisition. The five independent variables all have a positive and significant effect with cost savings and global talent access being the best predictors. These results indicate how beneficial flexible work and digital technologies are in enhancing the success of the recruiting process.
The research helps to fill a gap in current literature as it offers empirical support of the effectiveness of talent acquisition in a gig and remote setting. On the managerial level, the research results will help HR leaders to develop flexible, cost effective and technological enabled recruitment models. The study highlights global integrated and digital transformation as a way to enhance sustainable effectiveness of talent acquisition in the fast-changing work environment.
