An Essential Parameters of Tobramycin Include Indications, Mechanism of Action, Adverse Effects and Toxicity
Abstract
Tobramycin is a useful antibiotic that is frequently used to treat and manage a variety of ocular and systemic infections. Tobramycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that works against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other aerobic gram-negative bacteria. Tobramycin is used to treat both superficial and deep infections due to its wide range of action. In order to support the healthcare team in making decisions and providing the best possible patient care, this activity describes a thorough review of the indications, mechanisms of action, potential toxicities, off label uses, dosing considerations, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, monitoring requirements, and pertinent drug interactions related to tobramycin.
