A Study to Assess the Effectiveness of Video Assisted Teaching Program on Knowledge Regarding Good Touch and Bad Touch Among Schoolers in Government Hss Mylachal
Abstract
Touch is a positive experience that gives a safe feeling from loved one. Good touch gives reinforcement and it is essential for health and good behaviour. Bad touch is unsafe and can also lead to psychiatric disorder. Teaching children about good touch and bad touch is important for their safety and wellbeing. A quantitative research approach was selected for the study and non-probability convenient sampling technique was used for selecting 60 schoolers. The knowledge of good touch and negative touch was evaluated using a standardized questionnaire. According to the study's findings, 80% of students had insufficient understanding, 20% had intermediate knowledge, and 0% had adequate knowledge of good touch and terrible touch. On post-test it shows 86.6% have adequate knowledge and 13.4% have moderate knowledge. Paired 't' test showed that there was a significant improvement between pre-test and post-test knowledge with 't' value of 20.50 at p<0.05.
Correlation of improvement knowledge and video assisted teaching program revealed that there is positive correlation between the knowledge and video assisted teaching program. The r value was 0.8. Chi-square test revealed that there was significant association between post-test levels of knowledge with selected demographic variables. The study findings revealed that video assisted teaching on knowledge regarding good touch and bad touch among schoolers of Government HSS Mylachal is effective in improving knowledge.
