Herbal Syrup By Kalanchoe Pinnata
Abstract
Kidney stones are associated with chronic kidney disease. Kidney stones may cause extreme pain and blockage of urine flow. Kidney stones are a risk factor for chronic kidney disease and progression to end-stage renal disease.
Traditional practitioners prescribe the whole plants of kalanchoe pinnata (Crassulaceae) and Silk (Bombycidae) for the treatment of renal calculi. This study was aimed to design, develop and to characterize the herbal syrup using maceration of the Leaves of kalanchoe pinnata and Fibers of silk and to evaluate its efficacy against renal calculi. Kidney stone, as a third important urinary tract disease, is a common disease affecting 10-15% of the world population.
