Investigating Medicinal Treatments for Decorticate Disorders in Both Humans and Animals

Prerna Chaudhary

Abstract

Abnormal limb posture is indicative of decorticate posturing. Damage to the cerebral hemispheres from decorticate posture causes disruptions in the neurological networks that control motor performance. Brain tumours, stroke, hypoxic-ischemic damage, brain injury, and infections are among the causes. Pharmacological substances offer alleviation. Opoids, benzodiazepines, and anti-epileptic medications such as phenobarbital and phenytoin are examples of pharmacological agents. Patients are also relieved by neuroprotective medications. Ultimately, it is determined that decorticate disorders provide a significant therapeutic problem that calls for an all-encompassing treatment strategy that includes supportive care, pharmaceutical treatments, and rehabilitation techniques.
