Abstract

These days a lot of energy is consumed by street lighting and because of the busy lifestyle of the people, changing the performance of street lights does not seem to be put in on time, and a large amount of electricity is wasted. In the present system it is considered that street lights appear to be turned off even if there is a sufficient amount of sunlight after sunrise and are lit even before sunset. To overcome these problems, an automatic road power controller will be the design. This paper aims to reduce staffing and a brand new approach to street lighting control using the LDR sensor and microcontroller. The microcontroller Atmega16 is monitored as a brain to control the traffic light system.
