Abstract

Renewable energy is the best form of energy to fulfil the energy needs of the world. Out of which, solar energy is a reliable source. A solar cell or photovoltaic cell is an electrical device that converts the energy of light directly into electricity. In existing systems, the solar panel provides energy to the system as long as sunlight is available and so the panel is utilized only for half a day. For the remaining 12 hours the system is supplied energy from the storage of the battery. In order to provide 24 hours uninterrupted supply from solar panel, artificial illumination is given to the panel; the lighting is powered by battery storage along with super capacitor. Graphene oxide thin film is coated on the surface of silicon solar cell as an antireflection coating. The reflection loss of the solar cell is significantly reduced leading to enhancement of efficiency.
