Management of Equipment in Construction Projects

Abstract


Construction equipment management is one of the major factors to run the project in a successful manner. The process of balancing the expenses and using of the construction equipment with the given timeline and the cost of the projects can be called construction equipment management. Proper selection of the equipment and using it appropriately will contribute to quality, safety, economy and timely completion of the project. The equipment owner mostly uses the replacement analysis technique for equipment replacement decision. By this technique, the owning cost of the present equipment is compared with the owning cost of the possible alternatives for replacing decision. Replacement analysis have been done by Intuitive method, Minimum cost method, Maximum profit method and the results incurred. From the results, suggestion was given for the effective management of equipment. Here the equipment used are rollers, bulldozers and excavator.
