A Review on the Behavior of Steel Wood Composite Beam
Abstract
Steel-wood composite beams represent an innovative and sustainable building material that merges the structural durability of steel with the renewable, lightweight qualities of timber. This study reviews the researches on the flexural and bending properties of these composites, emphasizing steel's high tensile strength and resilience alongside timber's reduced weight and lower carbon footprint. The synergy between these materials results in a robust, adaptable composite suitable for residential and large-scale commercial projects. The paper underscores the distinct effects and challenges of combining steel and timber, highlighting their pivotal role in promoting environmentally friendly construction practices.
