Abstract
Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled structures that may be simple or complex. They are common findings generally discovered in an incidental manner on physical examination or imaging. In addition to rupture, bleeding, and torsion—all of which are considered gynecological emergencies—ovarian cysts can cause difficulties. It therefore serves a crucial role in quickly diagnosing and treating conditions and removing high rates of morbidity and mortality. This article discusses ovarian cyst examination, treatment, and consequences. It also emphasizes the need of the interprofessional team in assessing and treating patients with this ailment.
