Study of Road Crashes in Dhulikhel-Nepalthok Section

Abstract


Every day about 5 to7 people die in Nepal due to road crashes. A regular approach to examine the reasons of such road crashes is deficient. This study is intended to analyze crash outlines for Dhulikhel- Nepalthok road section of the B.P. Highway in Bagmati Province of Nepal. Research is based on the secondary data collected from the three traffic police office at Banepa, Dumja and Mangaltar stations. The road crash data was collected from August 2008 to December 2012 and studied for their severity, causes and categories. This study found that 70% of fatal crashes were due to high speed driving.
