STUDY OF TRAFFIC ANALYSIS SELECTED JUNCTIONS IN BENGALURU CITY: A Review

Abstract

The rapid urbanization of Bengaluru City has led to escalating traffic congestion, posing challenges to efficient transportation and urban mobility. As the financial capabilities of people increased, more and more people started owning their own vehicles. This phenomenon when taking place in a massive scale leads to problems as congestion and other traffic related issues since the past decade. Intersection Study was aimed at estimating the current traffic scenario prevailing at the selected junctions like Minerva Circle, Ullal junction, Lakkasandra circle and East End market Circle facilitated by means of surveys conducted based on the work done by analysing the performance characteristics of the junction hence an attempt is being made to survey and assess identified dark spots through traffic survey for PCU, pedestrian traffic, road geometry, parking utility and O&D study. This will enable for providing suggestions to consider and incorporate to redesign these dark spots to ease the traffic facilitating the above parameters.
