Analysis and Implementation of the Ultra-Lightweight Block Cipher: PRESENT

Siji Muduvangattil

Abstract

Lightweight cryptography is developed to increase the security level in pervasive computing applications. Particularly in applications which are characterized by resource constrained devices. In many of the lightweight block ciphers substitution box(S-box) is one of the essential component and it is the only nonlinear part. Thus the security strength of a block cipher mainly depends on the structure and properties of S-box. In this paper a new S-box is proposed for PRESENT block cipher. The analysis of the proposed system shows that it is more secure than the existing system.
