Abstract

The concept of a smart electricity billing system with current leakage identification using IoT with web interface is proposed in this project. On the basis of this principle, it offers well-planned cost control of electricity billing. Current energy billing schemes are anonymous, unreliable, costly and time-consuming. In this system we can recharge our electric meter in prior and use the amount of electricity that is available. When we surpass that amount of electricity, the meter will automatically turn off. A website interface is developed so that customer can monitor the usage and recharge accordingly. One of the important functionalities of this proposed system is that a customer can test leakage electricity and report to the corresponding head office through the interface itself. Current system takes more than 2 months to rectify the energy leakage problem. Here the rectification will be sudden and efficient. When we recharge our meter, a unique code will generate as a result of payment, when we type this code in the meter it will automatically enable the usage and we can use them easily more than before without any difficulties. When the recharged amount of electricity reduces, there is a cut out(which the user can set through the interface) when the amount decreases below the cut out, a message notification will be sent to the interface and the meter starts to produce an alert telling the user that the recharged amount is almost finished.
