Synthesis and Structural Characterization of GeSePb0.1 Single Crystals by Direct Vapour Transport Method

Sandip Unadkat, Ruchita Patel, G. K. Solanki

Abstract

The need for advanced materials has stimulated large areas of research especially in the field of metal chalcogenides and their intercalation compounds. The present investigation reports on the synthesis of the GeSePbx (x =0.1) compound grown using the Direct Vapour Transport (DVT) Technique. To confirm the composition of the grown crystals, Energy  Dispersive Analysis of X-ray (EDAX) is performed. The lattice Parameter, Unit Cell Volume, and Density are obtained from X-ray Diffraction. The phase composition and optical properties of as-grown crystals are examined by Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM).

Keywords: Crystal growth, direct vapour transport (DVT) technique, structural characterizations
