Review on Medical X-Ray Image Enhancement Method

Anagha K.

Abstract

X-ray image comprises a huge amount of information and became significant basis in the process of medical analysis. The X-ray image has huge gray dynamic range but low contrast. This project proposed a new kind of homomorphic filter which uses total variation model as the transfer function. It has a good balance in both brightness adjustment and details enhancement. This method can effectively increase the image contrast, highlight the details.

Keywords: Histogram equalization, contrast enhancement, brightness preserving, convolution mask, homomorphic filter
