Abstract

The proliferation of electric vehicles (EVs) has prompted significant advancements in safety technologies to address inherent risks and enhance occupant and pedestrian safety. This review explores recent developments in EV safety, encompassing active and passive safety features, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication. Key areas of focus include crashworthiness enhancements, battery thermal management systems, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), and pedestrian detection systems. Through a synthesis of current research and technological innovations, this paper highlights the critical role of advanced safety technologies in mitigating risks and fostering widespread adoption of electric transportation.
