FOOD DONATION APPLICATION USING MERN
Abstract
This initiative introduces a web-based application built with React and Tailwind CSS, designed to simplify and enhance the donation of surplus food to NGOs. Focused on minimizing food waste and addressing hunger, the system creates a direct link between food donors including restaurants, individuals, and hospitality businesses and verified nonprofit organizations in need. The platform offers an intuitive interface that enables donors to log food items, set pickup times, and view their donation history. At the same time, NGOs can handle incoming donations and coordinate logistics more effectively. Core functionalities include real-time alerts, expiry date monitoring, analytical dashboards for donation trends, and a privacy-focused communication module. By promoting accountability, ease of access, and collaboration within the community, this platform acts as a vital connector that channels excess food to those who need it most.
