Design and Structural Analysis of Rice Polishing Machine Frame

Nitin K. Bagewadi, Kirthan L. J,, Bhavesh G. Naik

Abstract

The objective of this work is to design and analyze the polisher machine frame through finite element method. Structural and modal analysis were conducted on the machine structure with sheet metal frame of  10mm, 8mm, 6mm and with structure of tubular frame design. A result from structural analysis was compared for stability, deformation and strength. Results from modal analysis were compared with the induced natural frequency of the system. From comparison it was observed that tubular frame design could substitute the sheet metal frames with moreover equal strength and stability. The tubular structural frame has edge over sheet metal frame of 20 percentages less weight and about 50 percentages less manufacturing cost.
