Integration of AI-Enabled Drones For Real-Time Fish Stock Assessment and Monitoring In Aquaculture: Enhancing Precision, Efficiency, and Sustainability

SAGAR K G

Abstract

Aquaculture plays a pivotal role in addressing the growing global demand for fish and marine products. Nevertheless, the effective management of aquaculture operations is contingent upon precise evaluation and surveillance of fish stocks. The conventional approaches used for evaluating fish stock may be characterised by their propensity for spending significant amounts of time and labour, as well as their susceptibility to human fallibility. In order to address these difficulties, the incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) into aquaculture practises offers a paradigm-shifting answer. This study examines the possible advantages, difficulties, and progressions linked to the incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for the purpose of assessing and monitoring fish stocks in real-time. It emphasises how the use of this technology promotes accuracy, effectiveness, and sustainability in the field of aquaculture.
