Abstract

Cutting tool is widely used for various machining process. A proper geometry on cutting tool plays an important role during machining process. Especially rake angle, it is the angle of inclination of rake surface from reference plane which plays a vital role on machining along with the given feed rate. The speed in which the tool is moving over the work piece and the applied forces should be optimized for the various conditions. This paper studies the various feed rates versus applied forces for the different rake angled cutting tool. Finally it gives an optimized rake angle for the better machining process.
