CAD/CAM-based Advancements in the Milling Machine: A Synopsis

Prajakta Kumari

Abstract

A recent area of manufacturing research has been the creation of unmanned machining systems. The customary processing machine eliminates metal with a spinning cutting device called a processing shaper. CNC machines are used for this. The CNC machine works with a part program. A number of G- and M-codes are included in this program. Skilled operators created this program. Geometry mistakes could result from this. Likewise increments work cost. As a result, new milling technology based on CAD/CAM is proposed to alleviate these issues. In this, the first step is to design the part using CAD software like CATIA, ProE, and others. CAM software is fed this part design. As a result, coordinates emerge. Additionally, a program is made. That program instructs the cutting tool to produce the required component.
