Screw Thread Design for Enhanced Mechanical Performance

V Jamadar

Abstract

Screw threads are fundamental components in mechanical design, providing vital solutions for assembly, motion transfer, and load distribution. This paper explores advancements in screw thread geometry, materials, and manufacturing techniques to address challenges in strength, wear resistance, and fatigue life. Analytical and experimental methodologies are employed to evaluate the performance of custom thread designs under varying load conditions. Additionally, the study highlights the integration of screw threads in emerging applications such as robotics, aerospace, and micro-mechanics. Results reveal optimization strategies that significantly improve thread durability and efficiency. The findings contribute to the advancement of mechanical design practices, enhancing product reliability and operational longevity.
