Principles and Applications of Operations Research Techniques

Pranjali R. Tete

Abstract

No science has ever been born on a particular day. An Operation Research (OR) is no exception. The origin of Operations research is as old as science and society; one can say Pre-World War II. Though the roots of OR extends to even early 1800s, the real start took place in 1885 when Ferderick W. Taylor highlights the application of scientific analysis to process of production. This paper shows an overall view of the principles and applications of OR and its techniques used in several fields of engineering and its various disciplines.
