INNOVATIONS AND TRAINING IN ROBOTIC-ASSISTED SURGERY
Abstract
Robotic surgery has revolutionized minimally invasive procedures, offering enhanced precision, flexibility, and improved surgical outcomes. Since the introduction of the da Vinci Surgical System in 1999, robotic technology has rapidly evolved, integrating features like 3D visualization, haptic feedback, AI, and tele-mentoring. With new competitors emerging, innovations continue to address limitations, making robotic systems more efficient and accessible. Training remains a crucial aspect, with structured programs involving VR simulators, dry and wet labs, and operating room mentorship. As robotic-assisted surgery advances, AI integration and automation promise a future of greater efficiency, affordability, and expanded applications in diverse medical fields..
